Next Ulpan Session Opening:
May 26th, 2025

A rich cultural community surrounded by evergreens—experience kibbutz life to the fullest!

Located in the Northern Menashe Heights, Kibbutz Ein Hashofet was established in 1937 by two Hashomer Hatzair groups from Poland and New York, forming a unique blend of cultures.

Ein Hashofet was the first Kibbutz Ulpan established and has been operating since 1951! Over 100 Ulpan sessions have taken place with thousands of students, many of whom later made Aliyah and established their homes in the kibbutz.

Our rooms are separated into two houses and there are two kinds of rooms. One kind sleeps two people and the other, slightly bigger, sleeps three.

Each room consists of a small kitchen that includes a fridge, microwave, kettle, and kitchenware.

Each room has two toilets and one shower.

Participants are in charge of cleaning their rooms. Cleaning supplies are provided.

You will receive a monthly allowance for your meals.  Full meals can be bought at the “Heder Ochel,” the main dining hall or you can purchase snacks or cooking ingredients at the shop on the kibbutz. The dining hall is closed on Shabbat, so you must fast on this day…just kidding! ;))) On Shabbat, you can practice your cooking skills. You can buy ingredients in the local shop using your monthly meal allowance.

All other expenses such as transportation, personal consumer goods, etc. are the participant’s responsibility.

You will receive a monthly allowance for your meals.

Meals are provided in the kibbutz dining hall as follows:

Tuesday, and Thursday – Three meals a day.

Monday and Wednesday – Two meals a day. Lunch is served at the dining hall, but for dinner you take the food from the dining hall as “Takeaway”.

Friday – Brunch and dinner are served at the dining hall.

On Shabbat the dining hall is closed.

Hebrew Ulpan takes place three days a week from 7:45 – 15:15.

There are two class levels: 1st and 2nd grade. Upon your arrival, you’ll be assigned to the class that best fits your level.

Work takes place twice a week. Hours depend on the type of work you’re assigned to. The different work roles are: factory, dining hall, bakery, farm, and gardening.

The afternoons and evenings are your spare time where you are free to do as you wish! You can enjoy the kibbutz facilities such as the gym, swimming pool (in the summer months), pub, and more. There are also kibbutz events which you’re welcome to join and take part in.

On weekends you are free to leave the kibbutz to go anywhere you wish. You can visit family, friends, travel or just hang around the kibbutz and enjoy the facilities.

As a Kibbutz Ulpan participant, you have access to a variety of cultural activities organized by Kibbutz Ein Hashofet and by the Jewish Agency for Israel, including tours around Israel and holiday celebrations with the kibbutz.

Kibbutz Ulpan across all the Kibbutzim is the same price and costs $7,000 for the full five months. This cost includes: Ulpan classes, housing and meals (unless stated otherwise in “Meals”), and guided tours and activities operated by Kibbutz Ulpan.

As a Masa Israel-sponsored program, you may be eligible for a Masa grant that may cover up to 50% of the program tuition. Contact us to find out more!

Ein Hashofet is located near the city of Yokneam. There is a bus that runs several times a day between the kibbutz and Yokneam. There’s also a central bus station in Yokneam where you can hop on a bus to go almost anywhere in the country.

The kibbutz houses a pub, a swimming pool (in summer months), a basketball court, a soccer court, a gym, and a synagogue which are all complimentary.

IMPORTANT –  READ THIS BEFORE MESSAGING US!  Our organization is in charge only of the registration of tourists who want to participate in the program. Generally, our participants come to Israel as tourists, and if they are eligible, they can benefit from a Masa Israel Journey Grant/Scholarship, and significantly reduce the program cost. Once they have finished the program, they can begin their Aliyah process with a much better Hebrew level. If you have already made Aliyah or want to come to Israel as an Oleh/Olah, please visit The Jewish Agency for Israel directly.
